Gilbert Asante - Chief Finance Officer

Gilbert Asante graduated from the University of Ghana in 2004 with First Class Honors in the Social Sciences before proceeding to train at KPMG where he qualified as a chartered accountant in 2007.

He subsequently went on to obtain an Executive MBA from the University of Ghana Business School after qualifying as a professional affiliate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation - Ghana.

Gilbert joined SDC Finance Limited in July 2009 as the Accounts Manager after having over five years audit experience in KPMG, where he successfully led several audit field works in the financial service industry. He was promoted in 2011 into the role of Chief Finance Officer of the company, where he assumed full responsibility for the company’s Finance function. As the Chief Manager of the company’s financial position, Gilbert has taken a keen interest in the company’s Recoveries function and has been very instrumental in progressive reduction.

Gilbert Asante left to join FirsTrust Savings and Loans in October 2016 as the Financial Controller, overseeing the Finance function of the 12 branches and 1 agency of the company. Gilbert resigned from FirsTrust Savings and Loans in September 2018 and returned to SDC Finance Limited in the capacity of Chief Finance Officer in December 2018.
