Mathias Dorfe - Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Mathias Dorfe, a 1988 graduate of the University of Ghana Business School with over 20 years’ experience in the Ghanaian Financial Service industry, is the CEO of SDC Finance.

He has since mid 2011, led the company to consolidate its footprint in the market for construction finance, significantly increase its year-on-year revenues and profitability. He has also built a solid youthful management team which holds the key to the company’s future.

Prior to joining SDC, Mathias was the Country Manager of GroFin Ghana Limited, a Pan-African financial service company that focuses on providing medium to long term financing for SMEs in Africa and the Middle East.  Before then, he worked as the Head of Asset Finance at the then Barclays Bank Ghana, now Absa Ghana Limited. In his pre-Barclays years, he was a member of the start-up team that set up Leasafric Ghana Limited, where he worked for almost thirteen years, rising through the ranks to become the company’s Chief Executive Officer before leaving to join Barclays at the end of 2006. He started his career in the Management Trainee program of Unilever Ghana Limited in 1989, where he held different junior management positions in Internal Audit and Accounting roles.
